A Bespoke Wooden Garden Bench with Provenance

Specially commissioned by the National Trust, the Polesden Bench™ is a bespoke wooden garden bench developed from an original design at Polesden Lacey, the Edwardian country estate once home to Margaret Greville.

Its distinctive form and generous proportions retain the character of the historic bench, interpreted through traditional cabinet making and architectural joinery for long-term exterior use.

A Wooden Garden Bench Made to Order

Each Polesden Bench™ is made individually using traditional joinery and substantial timber sections. Dimensions and configuration can be considered specifically for the garden, estate or architectural setting.

Choose FSC-certified Oak or Iroko for a natural wooden garden bench that will weather gradually outdoors, or Accoya™ for a precise painted finish.

Inclusive Garden Seating

The Polesden Bench™ can also be commissioned as a larger bespoke seating arrangement. For the National Trust, we developed a twelve-sided version incorporating dedicated wheelchair and pushchair spaces within the design.

This allows inclusive access to form part of the architectural composition of the seating rather than being treated as an addition.
