Every planter is engineered according to its size, proportions, planting and anticipated internal load. A large wooden planter is not simply a smaller design made bigger. As the scale changes, so does the engineering.

Our planters, garden furniture and architectural joinery draw on British architectural and garden design traditions, while allowing each commission to have its own character.
Alongside our established collection, we work with private clients and design professionals to interpret archive photographs, historic references and treasured family pieces, developing new commissions that respect the character, proportions and detailing of the original.
Some commissions sit entirely outside our established collection.
We welcome briefs for planters, garden furniture, gates, garden structures and other exterior joinery, with each piece considered specifically for its setting, proportions and intended use.
From an initial idea to detailed architectural drawings, we work directly with private clients or alongside architects, garden designers and landscape professionals.
Every enquiry is handled personally by Oxford Planters, from the first conversation through to completion.
Private clients and design professionals are welcome to visit our Cotswolds workshop and showroom by appointment to discuss a commission, explore materials and finishes, and see work in progress.
For projects that benefit from seeing the setting first-hand, we also undertake site visits to consider scale, proportions, positioning and practical requirements.

We combine traditional cabinet making and architectural joinery with modern materials and considered engineering.
Oxford Planters has worked with Accoya™ for exterior furniture since 2007, recognising early its stability and durability for outdoor use. Today, we use A1 Grade Accoya™ for painted wooden planters, garden furniture and bespoke exterior joinery.
Traditional methods remain fundamental to our work, alongside materials and ideas that improve longevity, performance and freedom in design.
Our bespoke planters, garden furniture and exterior joinery can be found in private gardens and estates throughout the UK and overseas, alongside long-standing commissions for the National Trust and Historic Royal Palaces.
Many clients return to us as their gardens and properties evolve. We also work alongside architects, garden designers, landscape professionals and estate teams on larger commissions.
UK orders are delivered personally wherever practical, while international commissions are entrusted to specialist couriers experienced in transporting furniture and architectural joinery.
