Oxford Planters is a family-owned company specialising in bespoke exterior joinery, individually made to order in our Cotswolds workshop.

Established in 2004, the company grew from founder Leon’s background as a trained cabinet maker who went on to specialise in architectural joinery, working on period properties for a decade before establishing Oxford Planters. That experience continues to inform our approach to proportion, detailing, engineering and longevity.

Our bespoke wooden planters are central to our reputation, alongside garden furniture, gates, outdoor kitchens, architectural joinery and entirely individual commissions.

Traditional joinery sits alongside considered engineering, with material, scale, structural requirements and intended use informing each piece.

We work principally with Oak, Iroko and A1 Grade Accoya™, selected for their particular qualities in exterior joinery.

For our planters, scale, planting and anticipated internal load inform the engineering. A substantial planter is not simply a smaller planter made larger; as the scale changes, so do its structural requirements.

Remaining family owned keeps us closely involved with every commission. Our team of joiners and cabinet makers works directly with private clients and alongside garden designers, landscape architects and architects on projects throughout the UK and overseas.
