A Traditional Architectural Estate Planter

The Wadham™ is a substantial architectural wooden planter designed for gardens and landscapes where scale, structure and craftsmanship are important.

Strong square proportions, substantial posts, vertical timber boarding and exposed metal straps give the Wadham its distinctive architectural character. The design draws on traditional estate joinery while its clean construction allows it to work equally well within contemporary landscapes.

Handmade to order in our Cotswolds workshop, the Wadham can be specified in Oak, Iroko or Accoya™, with the timber and finish selected to complement its setting.

Its generous proportions make it particularly suited to entrances, terraces, courtyards, country houses and larger gardens where the planter needs sufficient presence to become part of the architecture of the landscape.

Substantial Construction & Traditional Joinery

The Wadham is constructed using traditional joinery techniques, with substantial 90 × 90 mm legs providing both visual weight and structural strength.

Exposed metal straps reinforce its architectural character and can be finished to complement the selected timber and surrounding setting.

Rather than being a lightweight garden container, the Wadham is designed as a substantial piece of exterior joinery, individually made for long-term use.

    Designed for Substantial Planting

The Wadham is designed with long-term planting in mind.

Four removable panels provide access to the root system for inspection and maintenance without unnecessarily disturbing established planting, while a concealed slatted base allows irrigation to be incorporated discreetly beneath the planter.

Its substantial construction and generous proportions make it particularly suitable for shrubs, topiary and specimen planting where both planting capacity and architectural presence are required.

    Oak, Iroko or Accoya™

Each timber gives the Wadham a different character.

    Oak Wadham Planters

Oak provides natural grain and traditional character, making it particularly appropriate for country houses, estate gardens and landscapes where the planter is intended to weather naturally alongside stone, brick and established planting.

    Iroko Wadham Planters

Iroko provides a durable hardwood option with a warm natural appearance and is well suited to exterior joinery and substantial outdoor planters.

    Accoya™ Wadham Planters

Accoya™ offers excellent dimensional stability and is particularly suitable where a high-quality painted finish is required. Colours can be selected to coordinate with exterior joinery, architectural features or the wider garden design.
