The Country Garden Campion™ Wooden Planter

The Country Garden Campion™ is a distinctive interpretation of the traditional English garden planter, combining a generous architectural form with the familiar rhythm of the country picket fence. Its removable sides echo a defining feature of the traditional caisse de Versailles, while bringing a more considered approach to modern planting.

At Oxford Planters, we believe a planter should respond to the needs of the tree as much as the beauty of the piece. The Campion allows direct planting, removing the need for a secondary liner. When the root system requires attention, the removable panels provide access without lifting liners or disturbing an established tree. We can also adapt each planter so the entire piece can move indoors when required, protecting specimen trees from frost.

Its scalloped detailing draws on the character of the English picket fence, refined through the principles of fine cabinet making and architectural joinery. Four removable panels and individually made steel braces combine practicality with carefully considered craftsmanship.

Our architectural joiners handcraft each Campion™ in our Cotswolds workshop. We select oak, iroko and Accoya® for their character, stability and ability to endure. Oak and iroko naturally develop a refined silver patina, while Accoya® provides an exceptionally stable foundation for a professionally applied finish in your chosen colour.
