A Chippendale-Inspired Wooden Planter
The Wolfson™ is a distinctive architectural wooden planter influenced by the decorative latticework associated with Thomas Chippendale and eighteenth-century English design.
Repeated diagonal timberwork creates the characteristic lattice pattern across each panel, combining decorative detail with strong, balanced proportions. The design has a more ornamental character than many of our planters while retaining the restraint required for architectural planting.
We make each Wolfson™ individually to order, considering its proportions, timber and finish in relation to the planting and setting.
Distinctive Lattice Detailing
The defining feature of the Wolfson™ is its geometric lattice panelling.
Diagonal timber elements create pattern, depth and shadow across each elevation, framed by substantial posts and rails that give the design structure and balance.
The combination works particularly well alongside traditional architecture, within formal gardens and courtyards, and at entrances where the planter becomes part of the wider architectural composition.
Deliberately Designed for Larger Dimensions
We deliberately designed the Wolfson™ for much larger dimensions, where the scale of the lattice detailing and substantial outer frame retain their balance and presence.
These larger proportions make the Wolfson™ particularly suited to specimen trees, clipped topiary and substantial planting.
We engineer each planter individually according to its dimensions and anticipated planting load, providing the strength required for long-term exterior use.
