Oriel™ Wooden Planter
The Oriel™ takes its inspiration from the traditional English cask, reinterpreted as an architectural wooden planter with a strong curved form and restrained detailing.
Its generous scale gives the Oriel™ a distinctive presence for specimen trees, structured planting and seasonal displays, whether used individually, as a pair or within a larger landscape scheme.
We make each Oriel™ individually to order in our Cotswolds workshop, with its dimensions, timber and finish considered in relation to the planting and setting.
Curved Form, Considered Engineering
The Oriel™ offers a distinctive alternative to more conventional wooden planters and traditional terracotta pots. Its curved profile brings a softer architectural form to terraces, courtyards, entrances and gardens.
Behind its appearance, each Oriel™ is engineered according to its scale and anticipated planting load, providing the strength required for substantial planting and long-term exterior use.

A Traditional Round Wooden Planter
The round form of the Oriel™ creates a softer relationship with its surroundings and makes it particularly effective where the planter will be viewed from several directions.

For a painted Oriel™, Accoya™ offers excellent dimensional stability and provides a precise surface for a professionally applied colour finish.

Can I plant directly into an Oriel™?
Yes. We design the Oriel™ for direct planting. Our specialist internal coating system, developed for our planters in 2008, protects the internal timber surfaces while maximising the space available for planting.
What timber is the Oriel™ available in?
We offer the Oriel™ in Oak, Iroko or Accoya™. Oak and Iroko can be left to weather naturally, while Accoya™ is particularly suited to a precise painted finish.
