Bespoke Wooden Planters

Handmade to order in Oak, Iroko or Accoya™ in the UK

Individual Planter Commissions

Bespoke made to Architectural bespoke made to measure wooden planter by skilled Cotswolds joiners

Created for a property on Bath’s Royal Crescent, this bespoke trough planter was individually designed to follow the distinctive curve of the Crescent itself.

Handmade in Accoya™, it incorporates integral curved trellis panels, with its proportions, curvature and painted finish considered specifically in relation to the architecture of its setting.

Designed Around an Individual Brief

Every piece is individually made to order in our Cotswolds workshop, with dimensions, proportions and detailing considered specifically for its setting, planting and surrounding architecture.

Our established planter designs provide a starting point rather than a restriction. For entirely individual commissions, we work from the requirements of the project. Scale, intended planting and anticipated load inform the engineering of each piece.

Your Design or Ours

A commission may begin with one of our designs, an architectural drawing, professional specification, photograph or simply an idea.

We consider proportion, detailing, timber, finish, planting and structural requirements as a whole, creating a planter conceived specifically for its surroundings rather than simply resized to fit them.

Commission a Bespoke Wooden Planter

Whether working from detailed drawings, precise dimensions or an initial idea, we consider the design, proportions, timber and finish specifically for the setting and intended planting.

Oak, Iroko or Accoya™

Bespoke planters can be made in Oak, Iroko or A1 Grade Accoya™, selected according to the setting and required finish.

Oak and Iroko offer the natural character of timber, while Accoya™ is our preferred choice for painted planters and can be finished in virtually any colour.

Designed Around the Details

Bespoke extends beyond dimensions. Proportion, architectural detailing, panel design, finials, trellis work and finish can all be considered as part of the commission, alongside practical requirements such as irrigation.

Each element is considered together, giving the finished planter a clear relationship with its planting, architecture and setting.
