Bespoke Made-to-Measure Wooden Planters
Every Oxford Planters bespoke wooden planter is made to order in our Cotswolds workshop. Rather than working to fixed standard sizes, we manufacture each planter to suit its setting, planting and architectural surroundings.
Whether you require exact dimensions for a particular space, want to adapt one of our established designs or have an entirely individual idea, our skilled joiners can tailor the proportions and detailing to your requirements. Guide dimensions are available for our established designs, but these provide a starting point rather than a restriction.
Your Design or Ours
A bespoke commission does not have to begin with a blank sheet of paper. We can adapt an existing Oxford Planters design by changing its dimensions, proportions, timber or finish, or work from your own ideas, drawings or professional specification to create something entirely individual.
Our experience in cabinet making and architectural joinery allows us to consider the planter as part of its surroundings, balancing appearance, proportion and construction with the practical requirements of outdoor planting.

Bespoke planters can be made in Oak, Iroko or Accoya™, allowing the material to be selected according to the setting and finish required.
Oak and Iroko provide the natural character of hardwood and will weather gracefully outdoors. Accoya™ offers exceptional dimensional stability and is particularly suited to planters requiring a high-quality painted finish. Painted planters can be specified in a colour chosen to complement exterior joinery, architectural features or a wider garden design.
Designed Around the Details
Bespoke work extends beyond simply choosing the dimensions.
Proportions, panel styles, rails, legs, finials, trellis work and finishes can all be considered as part of the commission. Substantial construction provides long-term structural support, while practical requirements such as slatted bases and concealed irrigation can be incorporated without compromising the appearance of the finished planter.
