Thomas Chippendale was an important English furniture designer in the history of English cabinet making. He produced new and interesting designs influencing aesthetic taste over the length and breadth of Britain and, indeed, the world.
Chippendale is a style that was popular from the 1750s to the 1780s. This furniture style was popular as it modified and combined other popular contemporary furniture designs and styles. The primary style influences on the Chippendale style are Rococo, Chinese, and Gothic styles.
In 2004 Oxford Planters took inspiration from the iconic Chinese Chippendale pattern and developed the Wolfson Planter. Traditionally made with a pegged mortise and tenon joined frame, the Wolfson is made to any size including sizes exceeding 1.5×1.5×0.08mH. You may choose this design in natural kiln dried Iroko, air dried Oak hardwood or A1 Grade Accoya if opting for a painted finish.
Each planter is made individually to order in your specified dimensions or our guide dimensions.
