A Neoclassical-Inspired Garden Planter
The Iris™ is an architectural wooden planter influenced by the symmetry, proportion and restrained ornament of neoclassical design.
Its defining feature is the traditional raised-and-field panel, set within a clean square form that gives the Iris™ a strong relationship to architectural joinery.
Rather than reproducing a historic design, the Iris™ interprets this classical detail in a more contemporary form. As a result, it sits naturally alongside both period and modern architecture.
We make each Iris™ individually to order in our Cotswolds workshop, with particular attention to proportion, joinery and finish.
Traditional Raised-and-Field Panelling
Raised-and-field panels give the Iris™ its distinctive character and introduce depth without excessive ornament.
Carefully balanced framing and strong symmetry allow the planter to relate naturally to panelled doors, windows, columns and other architectural features.

Can I plant directly into an Iris™ planter?
Yes. We design the Iris™ for direct planting. Our specialist internal coating system, developed for our planters in 2008, protects the internal timber surfaces while allowing the full internal space to be used for planting.
Can the Iris™ be made to bespoke dimensions?
Yes. We make every Iris™ to order, with guide dimensions providing a starting point. We can adjust the proportions according to the intended planting and architectural setting.
