Bespoke Luxury Potting Bench
Commissioned for a longstanding private client in Amersham, this bespoke luxury potting bench forms part of a carefully curated collection of three handcrafted pieces designed exclusively for their garden. The brief required exceptional durability, refined aesthetics, and ergonomic precision tailored to the client’s exact height, ensuring effortless daily use.
We began by establishing the perfect working height to maximise comfort during extended planting sessions. We then engineered the structure to allow ease of movement throughout the garden, balancing substantial craftsmanship with thoughtful practicality. The result is a potting bench that feels grounded and architectural, yet remains adaptable to seasonal layouts and changing garden needs.
Each frame is constructed from A1 grade Accoya, selected for its outstanding stability, longevity, and resistance to moisture. Our skilled joiners form every structure using traditional pegged mortise and tenon joints, delivering uncompromising strength and timeless integrity. This is outdoor furniture built not for seasons, but for decades.
The drawers operate on marine-grade stainless steel runners, ensuring smooth performance and resilience in all weather conditions. Above, a solid iroko timber worktop introduces warmth, density, and natural texture. The iroko surface not only provides a robust and practical working area, but also visually connects the potting bench to the bespoke seating we crafted for other areas of the garden. Every material has been selected for harmony, performance, and lasting beauty.
