Handmade to order in the Cotswolds from the finest materials, traditional mortise and tenon joints are used throughout. Each perfectly finished element of the bench is designed, developed and created by the skilled and time-served Oxford Planters team.
Recognising that every customer and outdoor space is unique, we will build your bench in either hand selected FSC-accredited oak or iroko. The natural finish will silver gracefully in the years ahead. Alternatively, an exceptionally durable Accoya-built bench will be coated flawlessly to your exact colour specification. Our bespoke memorial benches also offer the opportunity to include a personal plaque, dedicated to your loved one.
The Garden Bench Collection
The Dyffryn Bench™
Specially commissioned by the National Trust, our Dyffryn Bench is inspired by Thomas Mawson, the pioneering Edwardian landscape architect. In the early 20th century, Mawson was responsible for designing and constructing the Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan. Our striking new bench now sits proudly in the grounds of these lovely restored gardens.
Alongside his award-winning work as a garden designer, Mawson established a successful plant nursery and outdoor furniture workshop. The products made by his joiners perfectly reflect Mawson’s passion for marrying architectural design with beautiful planting. More than one hundred years later, we are honoured to follow in his footsteps. In designing the Dyffryn for the National Trust, we drew our influences from an original 1904 Mawson product catalogue. The oversize arms and legs of this hand built bench will bring real character and presence to your outdoor space.
The Oxford Corner Bench™
The Oxford is another example of our commitment to building the ideal solution for any outdoor space. Sitting proudly in the corner of a courtyard or walled garden, this is a bench that will be appreciated by family, friends and visitors for years to come. Drawing on all the traditional skills of our time-served joiners, the attractive lines of its gently sloping back create visual impact while complementing many different corner locations. To ensure a perfect fit, the Oxford is made to your individual specification in terms of size and finish, using FSC-accredited oak, iroko or Accoya.

We’re innovators as well as traditionalists. The Rockingham is the world’s only rocking daybed – and the very definition of luxury. Designed and hand crafted using patented technology, each one is unique. To ensure a lifetime of absolute relaxation, we’ll build the Rockingham Daybed to your exact specifications.
Wigginton Pool Bench™
Quite simply the perfect partner for your early morning, mid-afternoon or late-night dip. This quaint design is more than at home poolside, draped with your towel or robe. For a wonderful natural finish, choose from hand selected FSC-accredited oak or iroko. Alternatively, we will build your Wigginton from exceptionally durable Accoya, and coat it meticulously in your choice of colour.
The Adams Bench™
The Adams is a handsome statement piece for almost any garden setting. Our in-house designers have created an elegant, traditional bench with some really lovely detailing. A high, gently sloping back is topped with graceful curves. Choose from natural, hand selected FSC-accredited oak or iroko, or Accoya that is coated flawlessly to your choice of colour.
The Adams Coffee Table™
Complementing perfectly the Adams Bench, this strong and beautifully made coffee table also doubles as a bench.
Handmade to order in either FSC-accredited oak or iroko. Alternatively, we will build the coffee table from Accoya and coat it flawlessly in your choice of colour.
The Norton Bench™
The finest materials. The finest quality joinery. The Norton Bench is perfect for simply sitting back and enjoying the view. Incorporating lovely, Oriental-inspired elements, the wider arms are cunningly designed to accommodate your favourite tipples and nibbles!
The Milton Bench™
Based on our classic Adams Bench, the Milton features a slightly lower back, topped with a straight bar. The skilled craftsmen in our Cotswolds workshop offer a fully custom, made to measure approach. The Milton is built using traditional techniques, using a range of hand selected FSC timbers. Choose between a natural finish that will silver gracefully over time, or a bench that is coated perfectly in your exact colour specification.
The Oxford Bench™
The Oxford is a wonderful demonstration of the design values that make our furniture the best you can choose for your garden.
We created this bench to complement perfectly our outstanding family of planters. The simple strong lines and wider planking set it apart from conventional benches and offer proportions that mirror many of our garden planters. As a result, they work beautifully together. Choose from hand selected FSC-accredited oak or iroko, or meticulously coated Accoya.
The Newport Storage Bench™
As practical as it is beautiful, the Newport Storage Bench is based on a charming original design from the early 1900s.
Perfect joinery and detailing come as standard with all our furniture. The Newport is no exception. This bench makes a handsome statement in any part of the garden, or alongside your pool or tennis court. The back and main frame are made with either natural iroko or coated Accoya. The solid wooden seat is waterproof and designed to allow water to drain away from the back.
The Stud Bench™
Available as a 2, 3 or 4 seat bench
Another beautifully elegant wooden garden bench that takes its design cues from one of our iconic planters.
The unique visual characteristics of horizontal copper strips and studs combine with perfectly executed cross detailing. Created from exceptionally durable Accoya and coated flawlessly in any colour of your choice.
The Franklin Memorial Bench™
Available as a 2, 3 or 4 seat bench
All the elegance and tradition of our popular Franklin, but designed to include one or more engraved plaques dedicated to a loved one. Choose from hand selected FSC-accredited oak or iroko for a natural finish that will silver naturally in the years ahead, and blend effortlessly with its environment. Alternatively, exceptionally durable Accoya will be coated meticulously to your colour specification.
